A mother in New York has captured the hearts of millions after sharing a joyful video revealing the birth of her third daughter, Olive, through surrogacy. Amanda Warsavsky and her husband had long envisioned a family of three children but faced numerous challenges along the way. Warsavsky, 35, experienced around ten pregnancy losses before deciding to pursue surrogacy, a journey that ultimately led to a heartwarming surprise for her family.

Warsavsky describes the emotional rollercoaster of trying to conceive again after welcoming her second daughter, Violet. After months of contemplating their options, the couple found a surrogate who became pregnant quickly. Unfortunately, this first attempt ended in an ectopic pregnancy, where the fertilized egg implanted outside the uterus. This experience led Warsavsky to keep the surrogacy process a secret until she felt certain of a successful outcome.

About a year later, Warsavsky brought baby Olive home from a hospital in Syracuse, where her mother and daughters were completely unaware of the impending surprise. On October 22, she posted a TikTok video that quickly went viral, garnering over two million views. The clip features her two daughters, seven-year-old Scarlett and four-year-old Violet, bursting into a room to announce, “It’s a baby!” Their grandmother, Nanci, initially smiles in delight, but her expression shifts to shock upon realizing the newborn is in Amanda’s arms.

As the excitement unfolds, Scarlett explains to Nanci, “She was in someone else’s belly to keep her safe!” Nanci’s emotional response included tears as she processed the news. Warsavsky had captured this poignant moment on camera, sharing both the surprise reveal to her mother and the earlier introduction of Olive to her daughters.

Warsavsky explained the concept of surrogacy to her children in simple terms, saying, “Another mommy offered to keep our baby safe in her belly, because mommy’s belly couldn’t be a safe place for a baby anymore.” She noted that Scarlett seemed to grasp the situation better, having witnessed her mother’s past struggles.

Throughout the surrogacy journey, Warsavsky emphasized the importance of communication with her husband. “We have a really strong marriage and an even stronger friendship,” she said. The experience required them to relinquish control and trust the surrogate, who lived five hours away. “Surrogacy teaches you to let go,” she added.

The birth of Olive on May 1, 2023, came just days after Nanci’s birthday. During a lunch celebration for Nanci, Warsavsky faced the challenge of keeping her surrogate’s labor a secret. Although she was receiving updates on Olive’s impending arrival, she refrained from revealing the news. “I desperately wanted to tell her, ‘Yes, I have so much peace with my two beautiful girls, but there’s a third one coming,'” Warsavsky recalled.

Warsavsky’s path to motherhood has not been easy. It began shortly after Violet’s birth when she experienced a pregnancy loss at 14 weeks. Following a series of unsuccessful embryo transfers and a diagnosis of endometriosis, she ultimately opted for surrogacy. While her family supported her throughout, she wanted to avoid placing additional emotional burdens on them. “I was truly tired of everyone feeling sorry for me,” she stated.

Now, six months into life with Olive, Warsavsky’s daughters are proud to share their family’s unique story. “They think it is the coolest thing on the planet. Like, ‘Oh my god, we have a new baby sister, but she lived in someone else’s belly!'” she said. The joy of revealing Olive has alleviated a significant emotional weight for Warsavsky, who has also received positive responses from friends and family regarding her decision to keep the surrogacy process private.

Despite some comments questioning whether her mother was upset about the secrecy, Warsavsky views it as a gift. “My mother understood why I didn’t tell her,” she remarked. The family’s journey highlights the complexities of surrogacy and the joys that can emerge from unexpected circumstances.
