In Ingram, Texas, a family has been reunited with their beloved dog after floodwaters devastated their home and community. The Taylor family, comprising Jeremy Taylor, his wife Mandie Aguilera, and their six-year-old daughter, faced a harrowing night when the Guadalupe River overflowed, flooding their residence. The couple had gathered friends and family for a visit, but their gathering turned into a life-threatening situation.

As night fell, the Taylors went to bed unaware of the impending disaster. “I was sleeping pretty heavy until we heard a noise in the back — it was actually some trees breaking,” Taylor recalled. Within moments, floodwaters rose to their waists, then chests. They managed to escape by swimming outside, climbing onto a truck, and reaching the roof. “Everyone else’s vehicle floated away. If his truck hadn’t gotten pinned up against the house, we wouldn’t have had anything to climb on,” Aguilera explained.

In the chaos, their nine-year-old Labrador went missing. “It was tough,” Taylor said, as they searched daily for their pet. Their efforts paid off when, days later, they spotted her sitting on the porch steps. “She found her way home,” Aguilera exclaimed. After a visit to the veterinarian, they learned that she only had a couple of ear infections, a relief for the family amid the destruction.

The Taylors expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they received from neighbors and even strangers. “There’s a lot of devastation and a lot of bad,” Taylor stated, “But there’s a lot of good.” Their story of survival and reunion has resonated within the community, highlighting the resilience of those affected.

To assist the Taylor family during this challenging time, they have launched a GoFundMe campaign. The funds will help them recover from the losses they sustained in the flood and rebuild their lives.
