Everton Football Club has officially signed left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich on a four-year contract that extends until 2029. The deal, reported by The Athletic, was completed following Aznou’s medical examination at the club on July 29, 2025. Sources within Everton, who requested anonymity to maintain confidentiality, indicate that the transfer fee is approximately €9 million (£7.87 million, $10.6 million at current exchange rates). An additional sell-on clause has also been included in the agreement between the two clubs.

The transfer significantly enhances Everton’s left-back options. Prior to Aznou’s arrival, the only senior player in that position was Vitalii Mykolenko, following the departure of Ashley Young, who left for Ipswich Town on a free transfer. Aznou’s signing addresses a crucial need for depth in defense as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

Aznou’s Journey to Everton

Born in Spain, Aznou joined the academy of FC Barcelona in 2019 before moving to Bayern Munich’s youth setup in 2022. He quickly progressed through the ranks, showcasing his talent at both the under-17 and under-19 levels. In February 2024, at just 17 years old, he made his professional debut with Bayern’s reserve team.

Later that year, Aznou made his first-team debut and subsequently was loaned to Real Valladolid in La Liga, where he accumulated 13 appearances. Despite representing Spain up to the under-17 level, Aznou has opted to play for Morocco, earning six caps for the senior national team.

Future Prospects at Everton

The addition of Aznou is seen as a strategic move for Everton as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of a competitive season. His experience in top-tier youth systems and his recent performances in La Liga suggest he will be an asset to the team. The club’s commitment to young talent is evident in this latest acquisition, reflecting their long-term strategy for building a competitive squad.

As Everton prepares for the challenges ahead, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how Aznou adapts to the demands of the Premier League. His ability to contribute on both defensive and offensive fronts could play a pivotal role in the club’s pursuit of success in the upcoming season.
