UPDATE: CBS has just announced that actor Ed Weeks will star in the highly anticipated vampire comedy pilot titled Eternally Yours. This new series, from the creative minds behind Ghosts, Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, centers around a vampire couple navigating the challenges of modern life—specifically, their daughter dating a human.
Weeks will portray Charles, a vampire who has been married for an astonishing 500 years. Once a figure of nobility in the Middle Ages, Charles has now adapted to life as a bureaucrat, constantly moving to avoid drawing attention to his family’s eternal youth. His disdain for modern humans intensifies when he learns that his vampire daughter is in a relationship with a mortal.
CBS ordered the pilot for Eternally Yours in July 2023, following a successful development writers’ room session. The project has been in the pipeline for over a year, with Port and Wiseman eager to explore a different supernatural narrative compared to their previous hit. The studio producing the pilot, CBS Studios, has secured an overall deal with Port and Wiseman, ensuring that their unique comedic vision continues to thrive.
Weeks comes off notable performances in Blumhouse’s thriller Drop and the indie horror comedy Damned If You Do. He is best known for his role in The Mindy Project, where he captivated audiences over its six-season run. His rich portfolio also includes roles in Fox’s LA to Vegas and a recurring character on ABC’s Not Dead Yet.
With a strong team of executive producers including Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang, Eternally Yours is poised to bring fresh, comedic perspectives to the vampire genre. Fans are already eager to see how this unique family dynamic unfolds, especially in a world where age is just a number—and humans are often seen as the lesser beings.
