Young exhibitor Hannah Gobeli, just 13 and from Monticello, Iowa, was preparing for the open class beef show with her heifer, Alexa. “I’m excited and nervous,” said Hannah, capturing the essence of youth participation at the fair. Her mother, Kris Gobeli, noted the significance of the experience in building Hannah’s confidence and work ethic. “It’s very rewarding,” she added, highlighting the dedication that goes into showing animals.

Fair board member Mike Lambert showcased some of the incredible creations displayed in the Creative Arts building. “We have adult and youth activities here… photography, fine arts. There is a lot of creativity,” Lambert said, underscoring the fair’s commitment to fostering local talent. From award-winning quilts to culinary delights, the displays highlighted a rich tapestry of community involvement.
