Carmen Andrade, a well-known figure for her candid discussions about life as a conjoined twin, has announced her marriage to boyfriend Daniel McCormack. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Connecticut, marking the occasion with a celebration on the historic Lover’s Leap Bridge over the Housatonic River.

In an interview with TODAY, which aired on Thursday, Carmen revealed that they eloped in October, coinciding with their fifth anniversary as a couple. “We eloped in October with our families,” she said, describing the intimate nature of their wedding. Carmen, the right-sided conjoined twin of her sister Lupita, chose a striking emerald green dress adorned with sparkly sequins. “I did not wear white. Don’t regret it. I don’t like white. That’s not my thing,” she explained.

Daniel McCormack, 28, complemented Carmen’s vibrant attire with a dark suit, an emerald green bow tie, and a sunflower boutonniere to match her colorful bouquet. The couple’s bond is particularly unique; they met on the dating app Hinge in October 2020. Carmen noted that Daniel stood out from other suitors she encountered, many of whom were more focused on her condition. “I knew right off the bat that Daniel was different from the others, because he didn’t lead with a question about my condition,” she said.

Carmen and Lupita, both 23 years old and originally from Mexico, have been open about their experiences. They share a pelvis, a reproductive system, a liver, and a bloodstream, but they do not have the same heart or stomach. Each twin controls one leg, a coordination that took “17 years” to perfect. Their journey was documented in the TLC show, “Conjoined Twins: Inseparable,” which aired in 2020.

In a recent YouTube video titled “Overdue Update!”, Carmen shared her marriage news with viewers, showcasing her wedding ring. “I did get married,” she announced, while Lupita humorously chimed in that she did not, clarifying her own asexual and aromantic identity. “I don’t want to get married,” Lupita stated during the video.

Carmen also discussed her future plans, revealing that she is stepping away from pursuing a career as a veterinary technician and will not be obtaining a degree. Instead, she and Lupita plan to focus on their YouTube channel, which will feature sketches written by Lupita.

Their unique story and commitment to sharing their lives continue to resonate with many, drawing attention and admiration from their growing audience. As they embark on this new chapter together, both Carmen and Daniel appear excited to explore what lies ahead.
