James “Jimmy” Arnold Morris, a beloved member of his community, passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 53. Known for his warmth and kindness, Jimmy’s death marks a significant loss for family and friends who cherished him deeply. He is remembered fondly as a devoted family man and an enthusiastic sports fan.

Life and Legacy

Born on October 29, 1971, Jimmy was the tenth child of Esau Ray Morris and Florence Smith Morris. Throughout his life, he brought joy and companionship to all who knew him, embodying a spirit of generosity and love. His family recalls him as someone who never met a stranger, always ready to share a smile and a friendly greeting.

An avid fan of the Washington Redskins, Jimmy remained loyal to the team’s original name throughout his life. His passion for wrestling also connected him with many friends and fellow fans, further highlighting his vibrant personality.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved grandmother Sudie Morris, and several siblings, including brother David and brother Paul. He leaves behind a loving family, including his sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruth Carlton (William Davis), Mary Rich (Jerry), Jessie McGrath (Joe), Seabrook Morris (Sarah), Barbara Prince (Chris), Billy Morris (Marcey), and Joe Morris (Lori), along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements and Tributes

A funeral service will be held on July 27, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the Lower King & Queen Baptist Church, located at 204 Timber Branch Rd, Mascot, VA 23108. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Following the service, interment will take place in the church cemetery.
