Fritzie F. Will, a cherished member of the Farmington community, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 76. She was known for her dedication to family, faith, and community service, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment.
Born on January 25, 1949, in Doe Run, Missouri, Fritzie was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Florence M. (Gibson) Zimmerman. She grew up in a close-knit family and attended local schools, completing her education at Farmington High School in 1967.
Fritzie married her life partner, Jerry R. Will, on May 18, 1968. Together, they raised two children: Patricia L. (Will) Weddle, who is married to Jeffrey Weddle, and Jerry R. Will, Jr., married to Lori Will. She took immense pride in her family, which includes three grandchildren—Mitchell Weddle, Camryn R. Will, and Jerry R. “Trey” Will, III—and one great-grandchild, Belken Weddle.
Contributions to Community and Faith
Fritzie will be remembered for her deep involvement with the Open Heart Assembly Church in Farmington, where she played an active role in various ministries. Over the years, she served as a Sunday school teacher and contributed 32 years to children’s church and vacation Bible school. Her leadership extended to roles such as BGMC Director and senior citizen coordinator, demonstrating her commitment to nurturing both the young and the elderly in her community.
In addition to her church activities, Fritzie was a talented cake decorator, a passion that brought joy to many. She enjoyed crafting, making cards, and quilting, showcasing her creativity and dedication to her family and friends. Fritzie’s love for the holidays and travel also highlighted her zest for life and family time.
Fritzie is survived by her brother, Patrick (Thelma) Zimmerman, along with several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, including Rick (Diane) Will and Judy (Jerry) Stewart. She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Anton and Bettie Will, and siblings-in-law, Don and Carol Will.
Final Farewell
Visitation for Fritzie will take place on September 29, 2025, at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5-8 p.m.. The service will continue the following morning at 8 a.m., leading to the funeral at 10 a.m., officiated by Rev. Kevin Davis. Interment will be held at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery.
