He was a familiar face in the community of Chesapeake, Virginia, where he was best known for running Shorty’s Bait and Tackle, a popular destination for fishing enthusiasts.
Born on April 4, 1947, Casey dedicated much of his life to serving both his country and his community. His contributions as a veteran were matched by his entrepreneurial spirit, which found expression in his beloved business. In addition to providing fishing supplies, Shorty’s Bait and Tackle became a gathering place for locals to share stories and enjoy camaraderie.
Those who knew him will remember Casey fondly. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Casey; his brother, Jeffrey Casey; and four sons: Thomas Jr., Michael, Chris, and Marc. He also leaves behind two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as a wide circle of family and friends who cherished his presence.
