Nicholas A. Krallis, a beloved member of the Reading community, passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 64 after a courageous three-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was receiving care at Reading Hospital at the time of his death. Born and raised in Reading, Nicholas was the son of Maria Vougamalis and the late Anthony G. Krallis.
Nicholas, often referred to as “Nick” by friends and family, graduated from Reading High School in 1979 and later earned a degree in Economics from Millersville University in 1983. He devoted an impressive 40 years to his career at White Star Tours, where he was known for his dedication to customer service and his strong bonds with colleagues.
A Life Full of Passion and Generosity
Nick was not only passionate about his work but also had a deep love for sports, particularly the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. His enthusiasm for Philadelphia sports was rivaled only by his devotion to his church and family. An active member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, he found immense joy in his faith and community.
Beyond his interests in sports and religion, Nick was a music enthusiast and enjoyed traveling. His magnetic personality drew people to him, and he cherished the time spent with friends and family. His travel experiences allowed him to cultivate a wide network of friends, many of whom continued to support him throughout his illness.
In a testament to his selflessness, Nick served as an organ donor, positively impacting the lives of at least three individuals in need. His legacy will be felt not only in the community but also among those whose lives he touched directly.
