Jean Elizabeth Abramson, a cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on April 3, 1942, in Virginia, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Steven Matthew Devich and Dorothy Mae (Polski) Devich.

Jean’s life was marked by her devotion to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Rodney Abramson, her sister Judie Kauchick, and sisters-in-law Arlene Clay and Lois Kuhlmey. Her passing leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, as she is survived by her three children: Steven (Tami) Abramson, Kathryn (Mark) Tesija, and Margo Abramson.

Jean was affectionately known as “G.G.” by her grandchildren, who include Steven (Laine) Abramson, Andrew (Kelsey) Abramson, Daniel (Karin) Abramson, Andrew Tesija of Marburg, Germany, and John Tesija. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren. Her sister, Margo (Ed) Essman, resides in Nacogdoches, Texas, along with her niece, Cory Clay (Ginger Backus).

Memorial Arrangements and Community Contributions

A memorial service to celebrate Jean’s life is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 14:00 at Asbury United Methodist Church, located at 6822 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN 55807. Friends and family are invited to honor her memory and reflect on the impact she had on their lives.
