Ann Marie Montagino, an esteemed educator and beloved family member, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Her life was marked by a deep commitment to teaching and a profound love for her family, particularly her grandchildren.

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ann Marie was the daughter of Walter and Sophie Schultz Dombroski. After completing her education at Mansfield State University, she devoted her career to teaching fifth grade at Schoharie Elementary School. It was here that she formed a lasting friendship with fellow educator Marjorie Cummings, sharing not only a passion for teaching but also a commitment to the community.

Throughout her life, Ann Marie found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, Michaela and Joseph Montagino. She is remembered for her warm spirit and her ability to connect with others, leaving a lasting impact on her family and friends.

Ann Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Montagino, who passed away on February 22, 2025. She is survived by her loving son, Charles J. Montagino, and three brothers: John Dombroski (Barbara), Gerard Dombroski, and Thomas Dombroski (Deborah). Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also predeceased by her brother, Walter J. Dombroski.

Memorial Services Scheduled

A calling hour will take place on November 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, located at 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. Following this, a prayer service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., with entombment to follow at Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
