Patricia “Patti” Lloyd, a cherished figure in Cape Cod, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 71. Known for her vibrant personality, Patti’s warmth, humor, and dedication to her community left a lasting impact on many. Born on March 30, 1954, in Baumholder, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie L. and Ann (Demogenes) Lloyd and grew up embracing the life of a military family.
Patti’s journey took her to Gloucester, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Gloucester High School. She later earned a degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Her first experience with Cape Cod came in 1976, but it was in 1981 that she made it her permanent home.
Her professional life was marked by a strong commitment to hospitality, stemming from her family’s restaurant business, Lloyd’s Restaurant, and Jack’s Diner. These experiences laid the foundation for her successful career, which included roles at Dorsie’s Steak House, Botsini Corporation, and Ocean Edge Resort and Conference Center. From 2000 to 2024, Patti served as the Vice President of Sales for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, where her passion for the region truly flourished.
Patti was affectionately nicknamed “The Energizer Bunny” due to her tireless efforts in promoting Cape Cod as a premier destination for tourism and events. Her enthusiasm attracted thousands of visitors to the area each year, showcasing the beauty and charm of Cape Cod to audiences across the United States and Canada.
In addition to her professional achievements, Patti was deeply committed to her community. She received numerous awards for her volunteerism and service, reflecting her dedication to bringing people together. Her vibrant personality made her a beloved presence at social gatherings, often seen in her signature pink and brightly colored Lilly Pulitzer outfits.
A retirement celebration held in November 2023 drew over 400 attendees, all eager to honor Patti’s contributions to the Cape Cod community. This event highlighted her importance to the region and the affection felt for her by so many.
Family was a central part of Patti’s life. She is survived by her sisters, Jane Lloyd and Christina Lloyd Carey, along with her brother-in-law, Brian Carey, and four nephews—Alexander Gleason, Christopher, Nicholas, and Zachary. Patti’s love extended to her pets, including her “furry nephews,” Jingles, Roquefort, and Finley, as well as her summer companion, Tucker. She was predeceased by her sister Ellen and is remembered fondly by many cousins.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Patti maintained her zest for life. Even in her final days, she radiated positivity, leaving a legacy of love and joy. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family, who cherish her spirited presence and infectious smile.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal wake. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink or Lilly Pulitzer to celebrate her life. A service will take place on November 8, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by prayers and a celebration of life at Tugboats Restaurant.
In lieu of flowers, Patti requested that friends perform acts of kindness or volunteer for a cause. Memorial donations can be made to The Patti Lloyd Hospitality Scholarship Fund through The Cape Cod Foundation or to Tommy’s Place Foundation, both of which reflect her commitment to community and service.
