Rebecca Serrano Deitz, aged 67, of Folsom, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Her journey through illness was marked by remarkable grace, and she is remembered as a loving and selfless individual whose warmth left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

Rebecca’s vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community defined her life. A prominent member of the Filipino-American community, she was an active participant in the Kapitbayan Filipino-American Association, Inc. (KFAAI), where she was beloved by many. Her contributions to KFAAI exemplified her commitment to fostering connections and celebrating her heritage.

Celebrating a Life of Service and Joy

In addition to her role with KFAAI, Rebecca was also involved with the Filipino-American Association of Montgomery County, Inc. (FAAMCI). Through these organizations, she not only shared her cultural heritage but also built lasting relationships with fellow members. Her passion for community service and her ability to connect with others made her a cherished figure within these circles.

Rebecca’s love of dance was another significant aspect of her life. She found immense joy on the dance floor at the Adelphia in Deptford, New Jersey. Her enthusiasm for dancing brought people together, creating cherished memories that will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of sharing the space with her.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Deitz; her daughter, Charlotte Hutchinson; her sisters Teresita Buesa, Priscilla Garcia, Laura Canar, Eva Konuma; and her granddaughter, Isla June Deitz. Rebecca’s legacy continues through the love and memories she leaves behind with her family and friends.

Visitation and Funeral Arrangements

Family and friends are invited to honor Rebecca’s memory during a Visitation on January 9, 2026, from 18:00 to 20:00 at The Donohue Funeral Home, located at 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. A Funeral Service celebrating her life will take place on January 10, 2026, at 10:00 at Washington Memorial Chapel, situated at 2000 Valley Forge Park Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406. Following the service, interment will occur at Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery.

A luncheon will follow the service, with details to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Rebecca’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate, the ASPCA at aspca.org/ways-to-give, or ACCT Philly at acctphilly.org.
