Melissa L. Roff, a beloved member of the Modena community, passed away on December 25, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was 60 years old and spent her final moments at MidHudson Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family, who were the cornerstone of her life.
Born on April 12, 1965, Melissa was known for her fierce protective nature and her boundless capacity for love. Her struggle against cancer exemplified her resilience and determination, characteristics she demonstrated throughout her life. In her last days, she found solace in the company of her loved ones, ensuring she was never alone in her journey.
Family was of utmost importance to Melissa, a sentiment reflected in her relationships with her children: Nicholas DelPezzo, Michael DelPezzo, Anthony Roff, Ashley Roff, and Sean Roff. She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren and great-grandchild, including Melaina, Aaliyah, and Kael.
Legacy of Love and Compassion
Melissa’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She shared a deep bond with her fiancé, Stacey, embracing his children and grandchildren as her own. This unwavering affection defined her character and enriched the lives of those she touched. Her siblings, including Teresa, Mike, Bill, and Jennifer, along with her cousins, Sloane and Dawnwilla, also held cherished memories of their time with Melissa.
In remembering her, the family finds comfort in their faith, believing she is at peace. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, but the love she shared will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who knew her. Melissa is now reunited with her parents, John and Lois Roff, her brother, John Roff, and her granddaughter, Somia.
Celebrating a Life Well-Lived
No formal services are planned at this time. However, a celebration of life will be organized in the future, allowing friends and family to gather and honor her memory. Melissa’s story is one of devotion, and her capacity to love deeply will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As the family reflects on her life, they are reminded of the biblical verse, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). This sentiment captures Melissa’s spirit and the legacy she leaves behind.
While the Modena community grieves, the impact of Melissa L. Roff’s life serves as a reminder of the strength of love and family.
