Anthony Tenner, a dedicated member of the Chattanooga community, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 51, following a brief illness at Chi Memorial Hospital. His unexpected passing has left family, friends, and colleagues in mourning, remembering him as a hardworking individual with a zest for life.
Funeral services for Tenner will take place on January 25, 2026, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez. The service is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. with visitation starting an hour earlier at 11 a.m.. After the service, interment will follow at Tenner Cemetery in Fayette.
Born on August 26, 1974, in Natchez, Tenner was the son of Cornelius and Priscilla Tenner. He graduated from Jefferson County High School in 1992 before furthering his education at Copiah Lincoln Community College in Wesson. In 1996, he began his career in the nuclear industry, joining Westinghouse in Chattanooga. His role allowed him to travel extensively to various nuclear power plants around the world.
Tenner was known for his strong work ethic and took great pride in his contributions to the field. Outside of work, he was a passionate fan of the Buffalo Bills. Alongside his wife, Cotina Monique Tenner, whom he married on January 1, 2012, he often traveled to games and explored destinations worldwide. His last game attended was on September 9, 2025, just two weeks after undergoing surgery to remove his left kidney.
In addition to his professional achievements, Tenner cherished his family life. He is survived by his wife Cotina, his parents Cornelius and Priscilla, a son, Markevious Tenner, and a daughter, Jakesia Tenner, both of Dallas, Texas. He also leaves behind a grandson, Kree “Uno” Reed, whom he adored, as well as two sisters, Angieneil Tenner and Antreinika Hunt, and several nieces and nephews.
Tenner’s legacy will be remembered not only through his family but also through the countless friends and colleagues whose lives he touched. His dedication to his work and passion for life will continue to inspire those who knew him.
