The Columbia River girls soccer team kicked off their season in style, securing a commanding 7-0 victory over Mountain View on September 7, 2023. Makayla Hundt was the standout performer, netting three goals and providing an assist, showcasing her offensive prowess right from the start.

Hundt received significant support from her teammates, particularly Olivia Alvord, who assisted on two of her goals. Madi Nides contributed with a goal and an assist, while Harper Lapinskas scored one goal from a corner kick, rounding out the scoring for the Rapids.

In another impressive display, the Evergreen girls soccer team triumphed over Hudson’s Bay with a score of 7-1. Miriam Madrigal was a key player, scoring three goals and adding an assist to her tally. Gianna-Mei Alejo Pagaduan also had a significant impact, contributing one goal and four assists.

In volleyball, several players made headlines across local teams. Ella Thompson of Camas delivered a remarkable performance with 11 kills, six digs, and three aces as her team defeated West Linn (Oregon) 3-0. Aiyanna Curtis from Heritage also shined, recording 12 blocks, eight kills, five digs, and two aces in a 3-1 victory over Hockinson.

The Battle Ground girls soccer team edged out Woodland 1-0, thanks to a strong goalkeeping performance by Camille Cresap, who made two crucial saves to preserve the win.

In slowpitch softball, Dylan Yates of Skyview played a pivotal role in his team’s 15-1 victory against Mark Morris. Yates went 2 for 2 at the plate, hitting a double and a home run while driving in five runs.

On the golf course, Jack Flynn led the Columbia River boys team to victory, shooting an even-par 36 at Mint Valley. His performance helped secure a win against Mark Morris, with a team score of 153-171.
