Syracuse University will host its annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day on September 6, 2023, during the home opener football game against the University of Connecticut. The event, taking place at the JMA Wireless Dome, aims to honor the university’s dedicated faculty and staff while rallying support for the Orange football team.
Faculty and staff members are invited to purchase discounted tickets for the game, which kicks off at noon. They can buy tickets for themselves and up to 13 guests at the following special rates: Level G for $21.51, Level F for $26.82, and Level D for $42.72. Tickets can be purchased online until September 5 at 23:59.
In addition to Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, September 6 marks Military Appreciation Day. This occasion recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of military veterans and active-duty service members. Active military personnel and veterans who are also faculty or staff can opt for a special discounted ticket, though these discounts cannot be combined.
Pre-Game Activities and Exciting Offers
The festivities will begin early on game day at 9 a.m. on the Kenneth A. Shaw Quadrangle. Attendees can enjoy live music from the Pride of the Orange Marching Band, meet Otto the Orange, and sample food and beverages from on-site concessions.
The first 400 faculty and staff members who visit the Faculty and Staff Appreciation tent with their Syracuse University ID will receive a game day gift and a $5 concession coupon to use during the game.
Those interested in an upgraded game day experience can enter a drawing by purchasing tickets before September 1. Prizes include seat upgrades, opportunities to participate in the on-field fan tunnel, and enhanced concession vouchers. Winners will be notified prior to game day.
Additional Benefits and Parking Information
Faculty and staff can also receive a 20% discount on up to four football season tickets. To take advantage of this offer, individuals can fill out an interest form to request a call from a sales representative.
For parking, university permits will be honored for free game day parking at the Skytop lot. Those without a permit can obtain a complimentary one-time-use Skytop pass between August 25 and September 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Office of Human Resources, located at 621 Skytop Road, Suite 1001. Faculty and staff must present their Syracuse University ID and proof of game ticket to receive the pass.
