His performance helped the Greenwave team finish 19th out of 92 teams, marking a significant achievement for a team still finding its footing this season. Following this, Melendy continued his strong showing at the Rollie Lane Invitational in Nampa, Idaho, just two days later, where he again claimed second place. In the finals of the SNC, Melendy’s only loss of the season came against Junipero Serra’s Sebastian Garcia, ending a remarkable run where he went 5-1 with three pins and a technical fall.
His recent performances are particularly noteworthy as they come after he missed vital matches earlier this season due to illness. Melendy, now in his final year, is on track to pursue his fourth state title, and his current trajectory shows he is a strong contender for the championship.
