UPDATE: Cal Raleigh is riding high after winning his first All-Star Home Run Derby on July 14, 2025, and now prepares for the MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta at 7 p.m. ET on July 15. The Seattle Mariners catcher, affectionately known as Big Dumper, not only took home a shiny trophy but also a staggering $1 million prize.
Raleigh’s victory comes with additional financial incentives for all All-Star players under the MLB’s collective bargaining agreement. Players selected for the All-Star Game or Home Run Derby receive a variety of perks, including first-class travel, hotel accommodations for themselves and two guests, meal allowances, and a $1,000 cash stipend. Additionally, they receive gifts from the league and commemorative rings for their All-Star selections.
Players who received the most fan votes are also in line for substantial bonuses. The top three vote-getters among outfielders in both leagues will each earn $15,000. Other positions will see the player with the most votes receiving $15,000, while the second and third highest vote-getters will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively. New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge led the American League voting, while Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani topped the National League.
For players who agree to be mic’d up during the game, a stipend of $15,000 is available. Furthermore, members of the winning All-Star Game team will split a total bonus of $800,000, equating to roughly $25,000 each.
In an interesting twist, Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cristopher Sánchez, who declined an All-Star spot due to restrictions, will still receive a $50,000 bonus for his selection. Other players expected to see bonuses include Freddy Peralta of the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor, as well as Mariners center fielder Julio Rodríguez.
