URGENT UPDATE: The Baxter boys wrestling team showcased impressive talent this weekend, with standout performances from Kinnick Poage and Ruger Kincaid at two separate tournaments. Competing against strong out-of-state competitors, Poage and Kincaid propelled the Bolts to notable finishes in both events.
At the Ron Dodd Viking Invitational held on December 9, 2023, in Northwood, the Bolts finished eighth overall, scoring 48 points among a competitive ten-team field. Despite a tough start, where he lost his first match by fall while leading 3-2, Poage’s season record now stands at 12-2.
Kincaid also made headlines, placing third in the 190-pound category. After suffering a loss in his opening match (20-9), he rebounded spectacularly, securing three consecutive pins. His first two victories came in the first period, and he closed out the day with a pin while leading 14-1.
In addition, Lincoln Russell represented the Bolts at the event, finishing fifth in the 120-pound weight class with a 2-2 record, which included two pins.
