Paul J. Tremblay, aged 77, passed away on February 21, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. A resident of New Boston, New Hampshire, Tremblay was well-known in the community and was a former longtime resident of Lowell, Massachusetts. He was the cherished husband of the late Marie Anne C. (Poirier) Tremblay, with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage.
Born on May 23, 1948, in Lowell, he was the son of the late Gerard J. and Henriette M. (Bergeron) Tremblay. Tremblay received his education in the Lowell school system and graduated as Salutatorian from Saint Joseph Seminary in Bucksport, Maine, in June 1966. His commitment to service continued as he joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1968 to 1973 and attaining the rank of Storekeeper Third Class aboard the USS Lowry DD770.
Before retiring, Tremblay dedicated many years to the City of Lowell, working across various departments, including Animal Control, Ashes and Waste, and the Street Department, ultimately concluding his career with the Lowell Water Works.
In his personal life, Tremblay enjoyed watching television and movies, spending time with family and friends, and going out to eat. He had a particular fondness for finding gluten-free treats for his sister and cherished trips to York Beach, Maine.
Tremblay is survived by two sons, John C. (Tremblay) Dupre and his husband Matthew Dupre of Virginia, and Marc R. Tremblay and his wife Melissa Tremblay of New Boston, New Hampshire. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Kaden, Bryce, and Minnie; three brothers, Roger Tremblay of Salem, Richard Tremblay and his wife Mary of Nashua, Diane Tremblay of Fitzwilliam, and Robert Tremblay with Melissa O’Brien of Grey, Maine; a sister, Denise Gravelle of Hudson; and an aunt, Solange Paquet of Lowell. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jeannine Tremblay, Raymond Tremblay, and Gerard Tremblay Jr..
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Service on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
