Career and Community Engagement

Rose had a notable career as a gas controller with Columbia Gas in Charleston. Her life took a different turn after a disabling injury forced her to leave that position. Subsequently, she became a bartender at Denver’s Depot in Charleston, where she earned the affectionate title of “everyone’s mom.” This role allowed her to build lasting relationships with both patrons and coworkers.

In search of a new beginning, Rose moved to Morgantown twelve years ago to live with her son, Jeff. She was proud to be the first resident of the newly constructed Harmony at Morgantown, where she continued to forge friendships and became known as the facility’s “night owl.” Residents and staff alike admired her vibrant personality and the way she brightened the lives of those around her. Her signature farewell, “Love you More!” became a memorable part of her interactions.

Rose was also known for her impeccable sense of style. Whether in casual attire or elegant outfits, she always ensured that her clothing was perfectly coordinated. Her flair for fashion drew compliments and made her a favorite subject for photographs among friends and family.
