Ruth Ann Chepalonis, a cherished resident of Exeter, passed away peacefully at her home on December 3, 2025, at the age of 74. Ruth was the devoted wife of Anthony Chepalonis, with whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage on October 13. Her life was a reflection of love, faith, and family, which she held dear throughout her years.
Born on February 17, 1951, in Kingston, Ruth was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lillian Sadowski. After completing her high school education, she began her career at the Party Time Manufacturing Company in Hughestown. Despite her professional commitments, Ruth found profound fulfillment in her role as a homemaker, dedicating herself to the daily needs of her family.
Ruth’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted and faithful Catholic, she embodied the values of kindness and compassion. Beyond her religious devotion, Ruth enjoyed quilting and, most importantly, cherished moments spent with her family. Her loved ones will remember her for her loving spirit and unwavering dedication.
The legacy Ruth leaves behind is one of warmth and love, deeply felt by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Anthony, Bernard, Edward, Jacob, and Joseph; and her sisters, Agnes Toole and Elizabeth Besermin.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Anthony; her daughters, Lisa Stugart of Pittsburgh and Antoinette Jones of West Pittston; four grandchildren: Sonja, Gavin, Amelia Stugart, and Carson Jones; her brother, Thomas Sadowski from New Jersey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services Scheduled
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a memorial visitation on December 11, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church of Corpus Christi Parish, located at 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by Monsignor John J. Sempa.
