Oliver F. “Ollie” Rhine, a respected veteran and educator, passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 92 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. His contributions to education and his service in the US Army left a lasting impact on his community.
Born to the late James and Sarah Cooley Rhine, Ollie was known for his dedication to teaching in the Marple Newtown School District. He retired in 1994 after a long and fulfilling career, influencing the lives of many students along the way. His commitment to education was evident throughout his tenure, and he is remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of learning from him.
Ollie is survived by his wife, Florence “Floss” Conner Rhine, and their son, Keith D. Rhine, affectionately known as Mickey. He shared a close bond with his sister, Ellen Smith, and leaves behind two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by six siblings, which adds a poignant note to his family legacy.

A Burial Rite and Eucharist will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Christ Church Episcopal, located at 104 Nevin Street, Ridley Park, PA 19078. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 9:30 to 10:45 AM prior to the service. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the church’s adjoining memorial garden, a serene location that reflects his peaceful spirit.
