According to the HERD survey for fiscal year 2024, ASU ranks 37th overall among U.S. research institutions, ahead of prominent universities such as Michigan State University, Purdue University, and the University of Chicago. Among public universities, ASU stands at 21st, outperforming institutions like Indiana University and Rutgers.
