Antsy McClain will perform a rare full-band concert at the State Theatre in Red Bluff on Halloween, October 31, to honor his Uncle Fred’s birthday. This family-friendly event, which begins at 19:30, aims to support two local initiatives: Tehama Together and the restoration project for the State Theatre.
Doors open at 19:00, and tickets are available for $25. Attendees can dress in costumes, with the band encouraging a “Flamingohead and Parrothead” theme. McClain, an Americana music singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee, has a strong connection to Red Bluff, performing there 16 times over the past 20 years.
McClain describes his music as “humor with heart,” blending light-heartedness with sentimentality. He has released more than 20 albums and is also known for his work as a graphic designer and illustrator. His impressive client list includes renowned publications such as The Atlantic Monthly and Newsweek.
Fans of McClain’s music refer to themselves as “Flamingoheads,” named after the colorful figurines often found in trailer parks. The artist affectionately calls his social media followers “cousins.” He stated, “This all seems too much like family to use any other word. I am confident that I have more cousins than anyone on Facebook.”
Through his work, McClain shares a consistent message: “Don’t clutter up your life with stuff that doesn’t matter. Hug your loved ones. Appreciate each moment. Use your powers for good.” This ethos is woven throughout his songwriting and public persona.
The State Theatre, located at 333 Oak St. in Red Bluff, is a key venue for community events. For additional information about the concert or to purchase tickets, visit statetheatreredbluff.com or unhitched.com.
