As production on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds approaches its conclusion, lead actor Anson Mount shared a heartfelt Thanksgiving greeting with fans. The cast is nearing completion of filming, with just the sixth and final episode remaining to be shot. The series, which streams on Paramount+, was renewed for a fifth season after its third season premiered in June 2025.
Filming for the series has continued throughout the fall, with completion expected in December. Mount took to his Instagram account to wish fans a Happy Thanksgiving as he left his trailer to head to the set. In a brief video, he was seen sharing a hug with co-star Jess Bush before greeting Chris Fisher, the producing director, and emphasizing the camaraderie on set.
Interestingly, the American cast and crew are working through the Thanksgiving holiday, as Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated in October. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is filmed at CBS Stages Mississauga in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Notably, Mount appeared more refreshed compared to a previous post where he expressed his exhaustion after traveling home for the weekend.
Mount plans to return to Nashville, Tennessee, for a belated Thanksgiving celebration before resuming work on set. At the recent ST: CHI – Trek to Chicago convention, co-star Christina Chong reflected on the bittersweet nature of finishing the series, stating, “We’re about to start shooting the last episode of Strange New Worlds. How crazy is that?”
While the production of the current season is wrapping, fans can look forward to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4, scheduled for release in 2026. Additionally, Season 5 is anticipated to debut in 2027, adding to the excitement with 16 more new episodes on the horizon. The ongoing interest in the series underscores its significance within the Star Trek franchise and its continued impact on science fiction television.
