Altru Health System has relocated the Altru Heart and Vascular Center from its previous clinic setting to the hospital in Grand Forks, effective November 24, 2023. This transition aims to enhance patient care by providing a more integrated approach to cardiovascular services.

The center is now situated on the sixth floor of the hospital, a move that reflects Altru’s commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. According to a press release from Altru, the new location allows for a more seamless and coordinated experience by bringing various services closer to essential hospital-based resources.

Patients will benefit from improved comfort and convenience as key cardiovascular services, such as EKGs, vascular ultrasounds, and echocardiograms, are now available in a dedicated space. “Our patients will be able to come to the sixth floor as a one-stop shop for heart and vascular care,” said Jodi Stauss, practice manager for Heart and Vascular and surgical specialty clinics at Altru. She emphasized that having providers located centrally will facilitate better collaboration among the healthcare team, ultimately serving patients’ needs more effectively.

The design of the new facility also prioritizes patient well-being. “Access to lots of natural light and beautiful artwork will put our patients at ease while we focus on healing their hearts,” Stauss added.

This relocation is part of a series of updates to Altru’s health system, which opened a new hospital at the beginning of the year. Alongside the hospital, a new behavioral health care center was also established. Earlier in November, the health system completed the opening of its new parking lot, a development Annie Bonzer, director of marketing and public relations, described as the “final important stage in our new hospital replacement project” during an interview.

With the recent changes, Altru Health System aims not only to provide enhanced medical services but also to create a more welcoming environment for patients undergoing heart and vascular treatments. The integration of these services within the hospital is a strategic move designed to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care in a single location.
