Allegiant Air has announced new routes to Atlantic City, New Jersey, marking the airline’s entry into the East Coast’s largest casino destination. In a statement released on Wednesday, the airline’s parent company confirmed that it will offer one-way fares starting at $39 for flights connecting Atlantic City with four locations in Florida.

Service from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport will commence on December 4, followed by routes from St. Pete-Clearwater, Orlando Sanford, and Punta Gorda airports starting on Presidents’ Day weekend. This expansion signifies the first time Allegiant will operate flights to Atlantic City International Airport.

The ultra-low-cost carrier is recognized for offering services from smaller, underserved cities to popular vacation spots, often without competition on its routes. Allegiant, headquartered in the suburbs of Las Vegas, thrives in the travel market by connecting leisure travelers to warm-weather destinations.

Gambling is a significant industry for both Las Vegas and Atlantic City. According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Clark County generated approximately $6.8 billion in gambling revenue in the first half of 2023, with around $4.3 billion from the iconic Las Vegas Strip alone. In contrast, New Jersey’s gaming revenue reached $3.3 billion during the same period, derived from the nine brick-and-mortar casinos, online gaming platforms, and sportsbooks in Atlantic City, as reported by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

This strategic move not only enhances Allegiant’s footprint in the airline market but also caters to the increasing demand for affordable travel options to popular gambling destinations. With its focus on low-cost flights, Allegiant aims to attract tourists looking to enjoy the entertainment and gaming experiences that Atlantic City has to offer.

As the airline prepares for this launch, travelers can look forward to the convenience of accessing one of the East Coast’s premier casino cities directly from multiple locations in Florida.
