BREAKING: An urgent update from Stroud, Oklahoma, as 83-year-old Jerry Dean Hine faces a staggering 408 charges of animal cruelty for allegedly operating a notorious puppy mill. Over 400 Maltese dogs were discovered in horrific conditions at his facility, Add Love, located on W. Main Street.

Hine was scheduled for a court appearance on Thursday in Lincoln County, but in a shocking turn of events, he was transported to Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman just a day prior, raising questions about his health status.

The Humane Society of Tulsa rescued the dogs, revealing the shocking reality they faced. Many were found in unlivable conditions, suffering from severe neglect, with some having open sores and their fur matted with feces, urine, and even cockroaches.

“This is a health hazard, especially with the summer heat,” warned Mindy Tiner, Executive Director of Oklahoma Alliance for Animals. “Diseases from these conditions can transmit to humans, and those running puppy mills often rely on constant vaccinations and antibiotics for the dogs.”

Local residents expressed their disbelief and anger over the situation. Warren Hensley, a nearby shopper, stated, “It’s wrong for him to do what he did to the dogs,” recalling the “real smelly” odor that often emanated from the shop.

Tiner emphasized the importance of awareness in preventing puppy mill purchases. “Just because someone is licensed doesn’t mean their animals are in good condition. Always ask to see the animals and the conditions they were raised in,” she advised potential pet owners.

If convicted, Hine could face a fine of up to $5,000, serve a maximum of five years in prison, or face both penalties. The case continues to develop as authorities and animal welfare advocates push for justice for the hundreds of dogs affected.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story, as the community grapples with the shocking revelations and the ongoing legal proceedings against Hine.
