URGENT UPDATE: A 17-year-old girl tragically fell approximately 30 metres (about 100 feet) to her death at the popular Moffat Beach lookout in Queensland just before sunset. The incident occurred around 6:40 PM as she attempted to take a photo with friends.
Witnesses report that the girl and her friends were enjoying the stunning sunset when they decided to move to a better vantage point. In a shocking turn of events, she climbed over a safety fence and slipped, plummeting down the cliff. Her friends could only watch in horror as she fell onto the rocks below.
Detective Peter Hocken from Queensland Police confirmed the tragic circumstances, stating, “[She] slipped and fell 30 meters onto the rocks below.” Despite the immediate arrival of emergency services, the girl succumbed to severe head injuries at the scene.
